Brief History

Here's a brief history about the show. It was started in September of 2002. The show's concept was to play various hard rock and metal. The creator and original host was Nick the Warden. He was joined by two co-hosts, Deth and Gambetta, on the second show. The Sanitarium would lose Gambetta in the Spring of 2003, but a new co-host, Matt the Lackey, would join the fold in September of 2003. During the Summer of 2004, Deth took a break from the show. She will occasionally be a guest host. The show has and will continue to grow and evolve with each new band, quater, and idea.

wardenThe creator, the master, the one,The Warden started the show in the fall of 2002 (1st year at U.C.). Since then he has become the Loud Rock Muisc Director (fall '03-present) and Production Director (beginning fall of '04) for BearCast. He has conducted interviews with Julio C. Marin (Glasseater), Eric Klinger (Pro-Pain), Chris Barnes (Six Feet Under), Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society and Ozzy's Band), Pat Lachman (Damage Plan), Karl Groom (Threshold), and Jerry Gaskill (King's X). The Warden adds the classic, traditional, and progressive metal flavor to the show.

Favorite Bands: Metallica, Megadeth, BLS, Alice in Chains/Jerry Cantrell, older stuff like Sabbath, Zeppelin.

lackeyLike a lost puppy, Matt came wondering in one day. It was his training session. He stood, watched, & never left. It was his first year at U.C. (fall of 2003), and he needed a good place to call home. The Warden and Deth accepted the strange kid. He quickly earned his nickname "Lackey. Matt the Lackey or Lackey (your choice) has come into his own. He brings the industrial and goth vibe to the show. After all, he is mostly emo, partly punk, not metal at all, but the master of industrial music, he's the one the only, Matt the lackey.

Favorite Bands: Nine Inch Nails, Ministry, KMFDM, Danzig, and of course GWAR.
 Deth Gambetta
dethDeth joined the show on it's 2nd week. She brought the evil: i.e. A female's emotions. She became BearCast's Loud Rock Music director that same year. Deth became the General Music Director (2003-Current). She is/was fond of the growl and snarl of the evil death metal genre. She took the summer of 2004 off from the show, and will be a regular guest host throughout the year.
gambettaChris Gambetta joined The Sanitarium during its second week. He had his weekly monologue, some funny and some serious. He liked to work out, and met Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno in Columbus. Chris was a big fan of Ozzy. During a high school talent show, he dressed up as the Prince of Darkness. However, in the Spring of 2003, he decided to leave the show.
